Jim is an experienced counselor having worked as a professional counselor for 16 years in and around Binghamton, NY. He has logged over 8,500 client hours and almost 1,800 group hours with over 2,000 different clients. He has experience counseling a diversified group of people from respected professionals to those with mental illness, addictions or criminal convictions. Jim believes the ability to help an assorted population comes from truth found in the Word of God and not from his personal wisdom.
Jim uses his spiritual gift of discernment and the Holy Spirit’s guidance to help him find the root to the problems people face. He is not judgmental, and does not feel he is better than those he counsels. He sees himself as a wounded healer, helping others out of the pain he has experienced.
Major areas of experience include marital conflicts, sexual abuse and sexual addiction, codependency, anger and depression. He has also developed and taught courses to train professional counselors, pastors and lay counselors.
Missy Young, Counselor
Missy Young is a caring, hardworking young woman that lives in the Greater Susquehanna Valley. Missy had various degrees and certifications in Criminal Justice, Laboratory Medicine, Biblical Teen Counseling, Bethesda Restoring Relationships, Safe Crisis Management, and many Fitness trainings certificates. Missy is currently employed with the Center of Hope in Danville, PA as a counselor for teens, young women, and those battling addictions. Missy is also employed at the Sunbury YMCA working with local youth and she is employed at the Geisinger Fitness Center as a personal trainer and membership manager.
Previously, Missy was a volunteer and employee for 3 years at the House of Hope, a residential home and school for teen girls. Missy worked with the girls and their families through Bible Studies, prayer, teaching life skills, and building character qualities. Missy’s goal is to “Keep Moving Forward” in love, striving for integrity and excellence, by the power of the Holy Spirit, and to encourage others by the Word of God and her life’s experiences. Lynne has received her BA in Social Work and her Master in Education in secondary counseling. She has worked for several years as a youth leader, counselor and spiritual advisor. Her passion is for youth and adolescents. Lynne’s background allows her to connect with those who experience abuse and neglect. She has worked with autistic students within the school setting by implementing specific interventions tailored to stabilize the child in the given environment as directed in the treatment plan and/or behavior plan, providing one-on-one interventions to a child or adolescent across all environments i.e., home, school, community, day care, and providing therapeutic activities to improve the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social functioning of children and adolescents.

Laura comes to us with 20+ years of experience in Customer Service, Marketing and Ministry work. She is a married mother of 3 grown children and grandmother of 8. She loves spending time with her family and helping others in various capacities. It is Laura’s responsibility to create partnerships with individuals, businesses and churches who wish to support this vital service to our community.
